How To Tell It Needs Replacement
Keeping all of your belts tight is imperative to making everything in your vehicle functioning. If your A/C belt tensioner pulley is not keeping enough tension on your belt, your entire A/C system won't work as effectively. A usual sign that your tensioner needs replacing is if your belt keeps slipping causing the system to "squeal". Belt drives have the task of transmitting and driving the rotary motion of the crankshaft to the engine control system or to the auxiliary units. Belt drive components are therefore required to deliver maximum performance in every vehicle. In order for the belt drive to run optimally, the belt tension specified by the manufacturer must be maintained. febi offers a comprehensive range of tensioner assemblies for auxiliary belts in OE matching quality.
The tensioner assembly not only keeps the auxiliary belt tensioned, it also compensates for the elongation of the belt over time. It also absorbs vibrations so they do not have a negative effect on the functioning of the auxiliary belt. The quality of the tensioner assembly must be perfect for these tasks.
